At Craig Lane Law we use bankruptcy law to relieve our clients of overwhelming debt and get them back on track. It's that simple.

Stop creditors

Being harassed by a debt collector? On the verge of losing your home to foreclosure? Wages being garnished by a creditor who sued you? Bankruptcy can stop all these things and more. Once your case is filed, the Bankruptcy Court will issue an Order forcing your creditors to stop any efforts to collect on a debt. They will have to wait and see how they are dealt with.

What happens then?

Erase debt

When debts grow so large that it's impossible to ever pay them off, and even keeping up with the minimums has become a stretch, it can seem there is no way out. Absolutely not true! Bankruptcy can erase most kinds of debt: credit cards, personal loans, medical debts, past due utility bills, court judgments, business debts, collection accounts and more.

Will it work for me?

Get back on track

A fundamental goal of the  bankruptcy laws enacted by Congress is to give debtors relief from burdensome debt and a financial "fresh start". It's not only the right thing to do for people, it's to everyone's benefit to have more people be active purchasers and borrowers in the U.S.  economy. If you are sidelined by debt, bankruptcy can help you get back on track.

And after bankruptcy?

Bankruptcy law is our sole focus, and we use our expertise to your advantage.

Our nation's bankruptcy laws give us the tools to help people from all walks of life overcome problems brought on by overwhelming debt, impending home foreclosure or auto repossession. The source of the debt doesn't matter: credit cards, medical bills, back taxes or business debt, at Craig Lane Law we can help.

We use Chapter 7 bankruptcy to simply get rid of a client's dischargeable debts. We use Chapter 13 bankruptcy to reshape a client's debt so that it's possible to get and remain current on secured debts such as a home mortgage or auto loan.

If your home or auto is in danger of foreclosure or repossession, a Chapter 13 bankruptcy can help you hang on to your property.

We serve the Charlotte, North Carolina area, including the surrounding cities of Matthews, Huntersville, Weddington, Gastonia, Mint Hill, Belmont and Harrisburg, and the counties of Mecklenburg, Union, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell and Lincoln.

Remember, credit card companies and mortgage lenders have many, many lawyers working for their interests. You should have an attorney working to protect you and your family.
